    Western Sahara
Here’s an Eocene Equisetalean Cone from Western Sahara. This cone measures roughly 50 mm x 18 mm. This is a very nice cone for this area with excellent preservation. Nearly all of the cells still retain the fossilized seeds. Due to the white color, the photos don’t show all the detail. This one looks better in person. This is great for collectors of plant and cone fossils.
There is some new info regarding these so-called “Pine Cones” from Western Sahara. A very knowledgeable friend suggests they may actually be fossil equisetalean (Horsetail) cones. Looking at the external structures and the internal structures from slices of these cones, I’m inclined to agree. There are also some sources suggesting the cones are actually Cretaceous in age, rather than Eocene, but most sources of these cones currently claim they are Eocene.

Payment must be received within 6 days of auction closing. I can combine shipments where it will not risk damage to the specimens. For combined shipments, please allow me to bill you to minimize transactions.
Priority mail is my preferred option for many pieces. The USPS supplies the boxes, the shipments are tracked, and the short handling time and rapid delivery are a big plus for customers. For some international shipments Priority can be quite expensive. In many cases First Class International makes more sense. For international shipments I will usually list items under 4 lb. as First Class. For some items I will automatically package, First Class for all destinations. If that is the case I will already have reflected this in the expected shipping and handling. S&H includes a handling and supplies charge to cover costs above actual shipping.
Note to International Buyers: For Fossil and Mineral Specimens, I always use the Customs Code 9705.00.00.91 for fossil and mineral collectables. By international agreement that should make them duty free, however I have no control over individual customs offices and how they interpret the rules. In addition, some countries assess a VAT. All pricing and shipping/handling is exclusive of Duty and/or VAT, which will be the responsibility of the purchaser. By law I am obligted to fill out customs forms accurately.
    Good Luck
